The new Hope Park Sports Complex involved the partial demolition of the existing Sports Hall building and the construction of a two storey extension.

The new accommodation provides state of the art fitness suites, studios, squash courts, lecture theatres, sports café and changing facilities. The retained sports hall was refurbished to include the addition of a mezzanine floor and retractable seating providing a 450 seat capacity for sports events and functions. The new building was connected to the neighbouring Health Sciences Building via a first floor link corridor.
