As a business we have always understood the importance of giving back.
Most notably, our collective commitment to providing 100 hours of service to the community in 2019, was one of the most memorable parts of our centenary year.
When we reset our values during the rebrand last year, we formalised our promise to make positive contributions, whenever we could, to people, planet and (local economic) prosperity. To be a Business with Meaning. This kind of business commitment is often referred to as Social Value, ESG or CSR.
This year we will be taking a more planned approach to prioritise “deeds not words” and invite you all to accept the challenge (and day off work!) to contribute to something other than our bottom line. The difference this year, is that we will help you do it.
Vickie and Natalie will be leading and coordinating our social value efforts, providing you with ideas and opportunities to take part in something worthwhile.
We have come up with some categories that will hopefully get you thinking about where and how you might be of service and Vickie will contact you shortly to make a plan! You will be able to keep up to date with everyone’s efforts on our Business with Meaning page on The Wire.
Did you know?
In the world of business, and particularly in the majority of our active sectors, it is becoming more crucial than ever to be able to demonstrate and evidence that we take ESG seriously. For example, did you know that for every one of our projects that is procured through the Fusion 21 Framework, we are contractually obligated to take part in and evidence our social value contributions?
2. By taking part in our 2025 initiative you will also be helping us achieve our goal of becoming BCorp registered.
So, whatever you decide to do this year, know that not only will it be personally rewarding but it will help the business too!
