WORK STARTS ON 3D SOUND SPACE

Baker Mallett is acting as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on the Construction of a canopied outdoor performance space which has begun in a Cumbrian Town.

The Hub is one of several public artworks planned in Workington as part of a £2.74m revamp of the town.

Cranes will lift the canopy into place in the next three weeks and the structure is expected to be completed by the end of next month.

The Hub is billed as the first permanent outdoor 3D sound performance space in the country.

A unique ambient "soundspace" is being composed for the site by musicians Vince Clark of Depeche Mode and Martyn Ware of The Human League and Heaven 17.
