Sustainable Housing
The Code for Sustainable Homes is a government supported initiative to ensure that new homes are built to minimise carbon dioxide emissions and environmental impact over the lifetime of the construction. Baker Mallett are licenced and accredited assessors through the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and can undertake assessments to provide an independent and credible Code Rating Level.
Baker Mallett can undertake pre assessments of proposed housing developments to give a predicted Code Rating and advise on the best route in achieving the desired Ratings. We can undertake Design Stage Assessments and continuously advise on the best route in achieving the desired Code Ratings and complete assessments up to Post Construction Stage and register the assessment and provide Code Certificates.
Baker Mallett are also licenced and accredited assessors for EcoHomes which was used in England as an environmental impact assessment before The Code for Sustainable Homes and is still in use for refurbishment in England and developments in the rest of the UK.
