Revamp of Slab Casters 1 & 2
Baker Mallett was appointed to provide Commercial and Contract Administration Advice to Siemens during the course of the project.
Baker Mallett formed part of the Siemens VAI project and site team to protect the financial interests of the company. A key role was the management of variations to the contract between Corus and Sub Contractors. In addition this involved developing scenarios that will assist with contractual decision making to ensure the most effective execution of the contract.
The revamp of two existing slab casters to convert slab 1 into a machine suitable for the production of higher quality slab material.
The contract commenced on site in April 2007 with a revised target completion of February 2008.
