Baker Mallett was commissioned by The British Museum to provide Quantity Surveying Services on this project to refurbish an existing gallery to provide exhibition space for a series of cave paintings produced by an Egyptian nobleman, Nebamun.
The project also involved re-roofing both this and an adjacent gallery and replacing their existing rooflights.
It was procured using one of the Museum’s framework building contractor and their framework M&E Contractor.
Stone from France has been utilised as a floor covering, showcase backdrops and in a stone clad suspended ceiling to replicate a cave setting. The project was programmed over a 33 week period commencing January 2008.
