MegaPTA Project
Baker Mallett was awarded the role of Planning Engineer by Artenius on the building of a brand new Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA) plant in Portugal.
The plant designed to produce 700,000 tonnes per annum of PTA is scheduled to be completed in 2009 and to enter into operations in the first half of 2010.
The PTA which Artenius produce then goes on to make plastic bottles.
PTA, a raw material for polyester is used as a key ingredient in the manufacturing of polyester fibres, resins and films and in the manufacture o polyethylene terphthalate (PET). The PTA which Artenius produce then goes on to make plastic bottles.
