Building Schools for the Future
Baker Mallett was appointed the role of CDM Coordinator by Middlesbrough Council for the biggest single Government investment in improving school buildings for over 50 years.
The aim is to rebuild or renew every Secondary school in England to ensure it is equipped with 21st century facilities over a 10-15 year period.
Acklam Grange is one of the Secondary schools involved in this scheme which comprises the construction of a new build school facility for approximately 1400 pupils, steel frame, external walls of brickwork, render and curtain walling, composite aluminium and timber framed windows—double glazed, low pitched meal deck roof with singly ply membrane. External works and landscaping. Demolition of existing school buildings upon completion of the new construction works. Construction and removal upon completion of haul road.
The Project started in November 2008 and is due for completion in July 2011.
