Building Schools for the Future
Baker Mallett was appointed the role of CDM Coordinator by Middlesbrough Council for the biggest single Government investment in improving school buildings for over 50 years.
Ormesby Priory Woods is one of the Secondary schools involved in this scheme which comprises the formation of a new temporary access and haul road, the construction of a new secondary and special needs school predominantly single storey adjacent to the existing schools.
The work involves vibro-compaction, combination of piling and pad and beam foundations, steel frame, curtain walling and brickwork external walls. Single ply roof, timber doors, aluminium and timber windows, metal stud partitions, landscaping and external works. The original schools will be demolished on completion.
The Project started in February 2009 and is due for completion in May 2011.
