Baker Mallett were appointed on the Co-op Regional Distribution LED Installation Programme.

The programme involved procuring the most economic price and programme for installing LED lighting in 12 business critical strategic sites (Regional Distribution Centres), which operated 24/7, 365 days per year.

We took responsibility for procuring and cost validating the most economic and programme effective solution for installing LED lights in live operational business critical sites.

The works were traditionally procured and tendered to provide fixed installation costs and annual energy savings which were contractually binding. A unique contract mechanism was included in the contract documents which guaranteed the annual savings and the tendered installation costs. The energy savings were verified independently after the installation using a blended approach of Type B and Type C measurement and verification techniques.

Baker Mallett were instrumental in managing and controlling cost and administrating the contract. The works were in a live environment on a fast track programme with no safety incidents or disruption to business continuity. The programme provided payback within three years.
