Baker Mallett were appointed on the Co-op Food Store LED Installation Programme.

The programme involved procuring the most economic price and programme for installing LED lights in over 140 Co-op convenience stores nationally, which provided a financial pay back in less than three years.

Our role gave us the responsibility for procuring and cost validating the most economic and programme effective solution for installing LED lights in Food Convenience Stores. The works were traditionally procured and tendered to provide cost and annual energy savings which were contractually binding.

A unique contract mechanism was included in the contract documents which guaranteed the delivery of the annual energy savings and tendered installation costs. The energy savings were verified independently after installation using a blended approach of Type B and Type C measurement and verification techniques.

Baker Mallett were instrumental in managing and controlling cost and administrating the contract.

The works were undertaken in a live environment on a fast track programme with no safety incidents or disruption to business continuity.
