CENTRAL FIRE STATION WAS NAMED BEST RESTORATION OF 2010
Baker Mallett was proud to be the Quantity Surveyor on the rebuild of Leicester Central Fire Station, which has just been named as the best constributions to the City's architecture in the past year.
The Central Fire Station was named the best restoration of last year following a £3.5million makeover. Peter Roffey, Chairman of Leicestershire Fire Authority, said. "This award confirms the decision to restore central station to its pride and place within the community.
The 1895 building was o nce a boot factory employing Leicester's most famous suffragette, Alice Hawkins.
